Background

Meet Raki...

Raki, otherwise known as Lion's Milk is the Turkish signature national drink. Made of twice-distilled grapes and aniseed, consumed with small plate of appetizers.

Raki is serious business in Turkey. It's the go-to spirit for celebrating an occasion. However, you can't just drink Lion's Milk anywhere, at any time, with anyone. All these variables depend upon unspoken codes and table rules.

Problem

This tradition makes raki hard to reach in terms of place, and price since it is sold only by bottle not by glass in the restaurants.

Solution Approach

An unusual raki experience and set of raki is designed to make it available also in bars. It is also time saving modern approach for young adults and tourists.

Goal, Target Group and Scope

It is aimed for expanding critical area of raki by making it available also in bars by glass not only by bottle in restaurants.

Starting from setting about drinking ways of raki (single, double, dry) and consuming with appetizer; a raki set is designed which offers an unusual raki experience.

The target group was young adults in Turkey (18 - 35 years old), and foreign tourists who would like to taste it and experience the ritual in a limited of time while travelling.

The scope was "How to create a new system for drinking raki alone, without changing the ritual?".
